GWNS Launches “Indian Aisle in Canada” at Nuvo Event Space, Marking Major Expansion of Indian Beverages into Canada’s Duty-Free Network
GWNS launched the Indian Aisle in Canada at Nuvo Event Space on May 21, 2026, introducing Indian beverages into Canada’s duty-free retail network across major airports and border points. The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, diplomatic presence, and cultural showcases highlighting India’s global trade and cultural expansion.
The launch event featured a Grand Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony, symbolising the formal entry of Indian heritage, craftsmanship, and premium offerings into mainstream international retail spaces. The ceremony marked a key highlight of the evening, underscoring the cultural and commercial significance of the initiative.
The event was attended by Natalie Hart, Sheref Sabawy, Deepak Anand, Pooja S and Balaji Nagaraja, Nina Tangri, Catherine West, Tania Lee, and Parth Makwana, reflecting a diverse presence of public representatives and distinguished guests. Their participation reinforced the importance of the initiative within broader cultural and trade engagement between India and Canada.
The launch is being regarded as a major milestone in India’s growing global presence, aligned with sustained efforts over the past decade to strengthen international partnerships, promote Indian enterprise abroad, and extend Indian cultural influence beyond national borders. As India continues to establish itself as a leading global economic and cultural force, initiatives such as the Indian Aisle reflect increasing international recognition of Indian products, stories, and craftsmanship.
The presence of Indian beverages within Canada’s premium duty-free ecosystem represents not only a commercial expansion but also a symbol of India’s soft power and evolving global identity, where Indian brands are increasingly recognised for authenticity, quality, and heritage.
Beyond trade, the initiative also reflects strengthening ties between India and Canada across culture, tourism, and commerce. The growing visibility of Indian beverages across major Canadian travel hubs highlights the influence of the Indian diaspora while creating new opportunities for cultural exchange and bilateral business growth. At a time when Indian cuisine, wellness, fashion, cinema, and artisanal products are gaining global attention, the Indian Aisle adds another dimension to India’s international cultural presence.
Speaking at the launch, founders Mr Balaji Nagaraja and Ms Pooja S stated, “Today is not just about launching products into a new market; it is about opening doors for Indian heritage, craftsmanship and stories to travel globally. Canada’s multicultural identity makes it the perfect home for an initiative like the Indian Aisle. Through this platform, we hope to create stronger cultural connections, introduce travellers to the richness of Indian beverages, and build meaningful commercial opportunities between India and Canada. This launch represents the coming together of tradition, innovation and international collaboration.”
The exclusive launch event witnessed the presence of government officials, diplomatic representatives, cultural leaders, trade stakeholders, hospitality professionals, retail partners, and members of the media. The evening featured networking sessions, curated showcases of premium Indian beverages, cultural presentations, and ceremonial moments centred on the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The launch stands as both a commercial milestone and a cultural statement, reflecting India’s growing confidence and expanding influence across global markets while strengthening its presence within Canada’s international retail and travel infrastructure.
